‘Wildest Spain. A trip to the heart of the Iberian Peninsula’ by Merce R. Romero

From Sierra Morena and its lynxes, Merce R. Romero (forestry engineer, nature guide, birder and wildlife photographer) travels to the Sistine Chapel of birding: Monfragüe.

The most emblematic birds of prey in Europe find refuge in the steep mountain ranges of the National Park, where the company Skua Nature has one of its most powerful photographic projects.

Without leaving Spanish territory, she spreads her wings towards the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees, at Buseu, where one of the greatest spectacles that can be experienced in the kingdom of birds takes place every day: the unmistakable flight of the bearded vulture.
