2022 Photography Competition

More than 5,800 images received from 33 countries

The 17th 'Wild Birds' Nature Photography Competition, organized by FIO, has received 5,821 images from 33 countries across Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia. This total exceeds that of 2021 (5,406 entries).

The competition has five categories (C1 Portraits of birds, C2 Birds in their environment, C3 Birds in action, C4 Artistic vision of birds and C5 Young photographers - for those under 18 years of age), as well as the special award 'Extremaduran Photographer'.

The winning photographs of the different categories, as well as the first prize of 2022, chosen among the winners of C1, C2, C3 and C4, will be announced at the FIO on February 19th, at 6.30 pm, in a gala presented by the journalist and broadcaster Roberto Brasero, head of the meteorology department of Antena 3 Noticias.

An exhibition with the 50 best photographs (including the winning images and the finalists) can be seen at the fair from February 18th to 20th.
